Dedicated To Nenny by Gwendolen Rhoades Copyright © 2009
You were my strength, my guide, and the glue
that kept us together.
We had our differences like every grandmother
and granddaughter does.
Even if I made you angry earlier that day, I
knew I could turn to you in the end.
I loved, respected, and looked up to you so
much.
I wish I could have told you that before you
left us.
I miss you so much more that I could have
imagined.
I never regretted you putting me in my place.
The one thing I do regret is not being able
to tell you all of this before you died.
I love you Nenny and I will always miss you.

After Nenny Passed
Things will never be the same. It's still hard at the holidays and on her birthday.

Family Strength

Years may pass and seasons may change.
Times are happy and times are sad.
One thing remains the same, I have stayed
strong because of my family.
Losses and gains.
Achievements and failures the same.
One thing remains the same, I have stayed
strong because of my family.
A rebel in my past.
Always the loner.
No matter my faults, my family was always
there to be my strength.
After the tables began to turn, I began to be
the strength for them.
First my grandmother passing, my mom getting
sick, and then my sister.
Now I am their strength, while they remain
mine.
